Is Inciteful Med HIPAA compliant?

Learn how Inciteful Med protects your privacy.

Inciteful Med is not currently HIPAA-certified, but let us explain why, and what we’re doing to protect your privacy.

HIPAA is a U.S. law that protects your personal health information when it’s shared among healthcare providers, insurers, and their partners. It sets strict standards for how data is stored and shared, but it only applies to certain organizations, called “covered entities.”

Since Inciteful Med is a direct-to-patient tool, meaning you choose to share your health information with us, not through a doctor or insurer, we’re not legally required to be HIPAA-compliant. That said, we take your privacy just as seriously. We’re working toward HIPAA-aligned security standards.

💡

If you’re concerned, we recommend not including personal identifiers (like your name, birth date, or contact info) when adding your medical records. You can do this by copy and pasting only the specific medical context.

Most importantly: we do not sell or share your data, not with pharma companies, insurers, researchers, employers, or advertisers. The only third parties we work with are trusted enterprise technology providers that help us retrieve and deliver accurate, evidence-based medical literature for you.

Our goal is to serve you, and earning your trust is core to everything we build.
